Music Producer William Edwards III Shot and Killed in Santa Monica: New Details Released.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – Regarding the investigation into last week’s shooting death of a Los Angeles music producer in Santa Monica, new information has surfaced. On the morning of January 25, the victim, 46-year-old William Edwards III, was tragically shot and killed while seated in his car. The incident occurred on the 2600 block of 29th Street, and the alleged shooter has been identified as 27-year-old Kayla Delise Mackie, who was later apprehended by police.

It was found that Mackie is also accountable for other crimes in Los Angeles, such as an attempted homicide and an armed robbery, after his arrest. In response to these revelations, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón has filed a murder charge against Mackie in connection with Edwards’ homicide, as well as additional charges related to the crimes committed in Los Angeles.

Santa Monica Mayor Phil Brock expressed his condolences, calling Edwards’ death a “senseless killing.” He extended his sympathies to the victim’s family and friends while also acknowledging the impact of this tragic event on the community. Mayor Brock underlined the city’s commitment to addressing and preventing all forms of violence, particularly gun violence, and praised the prompt action taken by law enforcement in apprehending the suspect.

Edwards, who leaves behind two young boys, was known among his acquaintances as a dedicated father and a talented music producer. He operated a small recording studio called Rogue. Black studios in Hollywood and collaborated with renowned artists such as Travis Scott and Lil Cobaine.
