For several years now, I have developed an obsession for ramen. However, where I live, it is quite challenging to find a restaurant that serves authentic ramen. Most of the options available are mere imitations of this fabulous dish. That’s why I decided to take matters into my own hands and recreate my favorite ramen recipe: the spicy tantamen.

The Perfect Pork

To start off, you will need the following ingredients for the pork:

  • 200g of ground pork
  • 2 tablespoons of red bean paste chili
  • A branch of ginger (amount according to your preference)
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce

Combine these ingredients together to create a flavorful and spicy pork mixture.

A Flavorful Sauce

Next, let’s prepare the sauce. Here’s what you will need:

  • 2 tablespoons of chili oil (I will show you the condiments in detail later)
  • 2 tablespoons of miso paste
  • 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of tahini or any other sesame paste
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce

Mix these ingredients well to create a rich and savory sauce that will take your ramen to the next level.

The Delicious Broth

Now, let’s move on to the broth. Here are the ingredients you’ll need:

  • 1/2 liter of unsweetened soy milk
  • 1/2 liter of chicken broth (1 or 2 cubes, depending on your preference)
  • 2 bokchoy
  • 1 soft-boiled egg
  • 250g of ramen noodles

Combine the soy milk and chicken broth in a pot and bring it to a gentle simmer. Add the bokchoy and let it cook until tender. Meanwhile, cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Once everything is ready, assemble your tantamen ramen bowl.

Serving Your Tantamen Ramen

Place a generous amount of the spicy pork mixture on top of the cooked ramen noodles. Pour the flavorful sauce over the pork and noodles, making sure to evenly coat everything. Finally, ladle the hot broth with bokchoy into the bowl and top it off with a soft-boiled egg.

Voilà! Your homemade tantamen ramen is now ready to be enjoyed. Take a moment to appreciate the vibrant colors and enticing aroma before diving in. The combination of tender pork, spicy sauce, and creamy broth will surely satisfy your ramen cravings.

Remember, you can always adjust the spiciness and flavors to suit your personal preferences. Feel free to experiment and make this tantamen ramen your own signature dish.

So, the next time you find yourself craving a bowl of delicious ramen, don’t fret if you can’t find a restaurant that serves it. Just follow this recipe, and you’ll have a steaming bowl of tantamen ramen in no time.

Enjoy your homemade ramen adventure!
